Product Description

Saturation Gold has a smooth, satin/matte finish that is a dark gold similar to bronze when fired. Perfect for sculptural work and industrial ware, this glaze could be a unique accent for any work of art.

Due to the powdered nature of the materials involved with the dry-mix dipping buckets of this product, their respective health information and labels differ from the brushing glazes.

Safety Warning

Tableware producers must test all finished ware to establish dinnerware status, due to possible variations in firing temperature and contamination.

+ PC-2 Saturation Gold: Glaze Application Tips & Tricks

In this video we walk you through our application tips and tricks when glazing with PC-02 Saturation Gold.

PC-02 Saturation Gold can be a finicky glaze but the biggest tip is making sure you have thick enough application when applying your 3 coats. This ensures the beautiful final gold result rather than a patchy, black glaze.

+ Layering Top Coat

Here are some examples of PC-2 Saturation Gold over some other Potter's Choice Glazes (2/2 Coats fired to cone 6 on AMACO #46 Buff Stoneware)

+ Layering Base Coat

There are many Potter's Choice glaze colors providing a huge number of possible glaze layering combinations. Experiment with combinations of glazes, different numbers of coats of each glaze, (up to a total of three to four coats) and ways to layer the glazes on your clay pieces. The samples shown below are 2 coats over 2 coats on AMACO's #46 Buff Stoneware fired to Cone 6. Click each image to enlarge.

+ Layering with Celadons

The Potter's Choice glazes produce unique and beautiful effects when layered with the celadon glazes and fired to cone 5/6. Be sure to use three coats of each glaze and let each coat dry completely between applications. These tiles have been fired to cone 6 on AMACO #11 A-mix.

+ Layering with Shinos

Here are some examples of Potter's Choice Glazes over Shinos. These tiles show 3 coats of each glaze and have been fired to cone 6 on AMACO's #11 A-mix.

+ Layering with Texturizer

Here are some examples of Potter's Choice Glazes layered with Texturizer. If Texturizer is on the bottom, first brush on a layer of Texturizer, then lightly sponge it off. Next brush on 3 coats of Potter's Choice. Tiles show on AMACO'S #46 Buff Stoneware Clay and fired to cone 5/6.
