Stoneware Body No. 480 is a warm buff color peppered with dark spots. The absence of grog gives the clay a smoother surface and is more plastic. It is excellent for throwing, hand building and casting, but is not as suitable as regular No. 48 for sculpture.

Stoneware Clay w/o Grog is AP Non-Toxic.

• Firing range is Cone 5-10 with best results at Cone 5
• When fired to Cone 5-6, 480-M is a warm buff color peppered with dark specks. At lower temperatures, this clay is somewhat lighter and less vitreous.
• Any high fire Amaco® glaze is recommended for use with 480-M clay. Light matte and transparent glazes allow the dark specks in the clay to show for a peppered effect. Partial glazing and slip trailing also create interesting results on 480-M.

Clay in moist form presents no hazard.

Packaging: Two 25 lb. blocks of clay in polyethelene bags are packed in a 50 lb. carton.
