- Finely ground white clays and medium grog increases porosity, reduces cracking, shrinkage and warping, making this clay very forgiving and excellent for Raku
- AP Non-Toxic moist formula
- Raku pieces made with 27-M are shock resistant when reduced and breakage is almost completely eliminated
- When fired and left unglazed, clay will turn dark gray to black, depending on the intensity of the reduction
- Amaco® Cone 06-05 glazes for Raku can be used on 27-M by bringing glaze to maturity then cooling to about 1700°F, 929°C before removing
- Excellent clay for sculpture ⎯ solid pieces or modeling and hollowing out
- Wide firing range of Cone 04-5
- Bisque is white with some black specks at Cone 05, light buff with few specks at Cone 7
- Amaco® glazes maturing at Cone 05, all of the Amaco® decorating colors, as well as Amaco® Cone 5-6 glazes may be used with this clay
Shrinkage: Cone 04, 7%; Cone 5, 9%
Absorption: Cone 04, 16%; Cone 5, 10%
Clay in moist form presents no hazard.
Packaging: Two 25 lb. blocks of clay in polyethelene bags are packed in a 50 lb. carton.
