For Amaco Velvet, Designer Velvet, Velvet-1-Strokes, and Liquid Underglazes Fired to Cones 5 and 10.
Amaco underglazes can be used and fired to the temperature of the clay on which they are used. However, some colors may change, fade away partially or entirely disappear when used at mid range or high temperatures. The color chips shown for these underglazes show the colors when fired to Cone 05 on an earthenware body.
To assist you with the choice of colors when working in stoneware or porcelain, these tables describe how Amaco Velvet and Liquid Underglazes will appear when fired to Cones 5 and 10. To use the Velvets table for Designer Velvets (DV) and Velvet-1-Strokes (V-1-S), remove the "1" from in front of the V-1-S series number or the "3" in front of the DV series number and find that number on the Velvets table to find the color change at Cones 5 and 10.
