Special Guests Robert Brent and Don Reitz joined the Sandoe Family and AMACO/Brent distributors, staffers and NCECA members in celebration of AMACO’s 90th anniversary and Brent’s 40th. Brent Wheels and Equipment was bought by AMACO in 1978 from founder and innovator Robert Brent. He and his wife Paula joined the festivities in Phoenix. Dozens of potters came to the AMACO/Brent booth and shared personal testimonials about their Brent wheels. Many bought wheels from Robert Brent himself and are still working on those same wheels today. Bringing back ‘Classic Control’ for the 40th Anniversary was especially fitting when Robert got onto a Brent B wheel and threw his first pot in 34 years. Like riding a bicycle, his technique and form came back to him quickly!

Don Reitz joined us as well from his studio in Arizona. With new ads about ‘Classic Control’ and Don’s own success throwing only on a Brent wheel (he owns 6), he says he’s the new poster boy for Brent!

Danny Meisinger put on a 3-day event himself throwing/assembling one enormous pot in the AMACO/Brent booth. With the support of our dealers and longtime NCECA friends, we enjoyed an anniversary week that none of us will ever forget.
