AMACO Unveils New Social Network in February
Indianapolis, IN — February 10, 2009
Today AMACO, one of the oldest crafts materials manufacturers in the United States, has launched a new social networking site allowing teachers, students, and artists from around the globe the opportunity to interact and share creative expression and visual arts ideas online.
The new social networking site provides a forum to share artwork, events, and ideas. It encourages budding artists and professional artists alike to interact, engage and inspire. Members can create blogs about topics like art lesson plans, send invitations to friends, look up teachers and learn the latest art techniques from the comfort of home, school, or office.
Social networking sites continue to rise in popularity. AMACO identified the need for a niche online community for artists and decided to proceed forward and launch its own social networking site. Recent dates conducted by Compete, a US web statistics company, concluded from a sample size of around 2 million US people that social networking sites are quickly approaching the traffic level of the big portals like Google and Yahoo. In June 2006, two out of every three people online visited a social networking site and since January 2004, the number of people participating or visiting top online social networks has grown by over 109%.
