Friendly Plastic® Designer Sticks — those shimmering metallic foil sticks are back! What was once the 80’s jewelry craze in the U.S. has become one of the most popular jewelry and papercrafting mediums in Europe. Popularized there by UK web diva and craft personality Liz Welch, the foil strips mounted on plastic offer instant gratification and quick results… as the medium can become anything that’s needed on a page, a card or a jewelry piece. Says Welch, “I adore the fact that Friendly Plastic® can be bold, brash and exciting; but with a quick bit of texture and applied color, it can also be subtle and sophisticated.”

US designer and author Jana Ewy, of FRIENDLY PLASTIC 101 accomplishes a dichroic glass look that is just epoxy over the plastic while mounted in a bezel. She demonstrated the medium to large crowds during the Craft & Hobby Show in Anaheim. You can also see her gorgeous designs in Belle Jewelry. Friendly Plastic® in 1.5″ x 7 metallic foil sticks can be cut with scissors or heated for molding, shaping and bending.
