AMACO Glazes that Mix
Follow these quick links to sections on this page: Intermix Charts | Mix & Layer | Glaze/Underglaze Series
Notes on mixing glazes: Pigments in glazes have different strengths depending on the color and a green pigmented glaze can quickly overpower a yellow pigmented glaze. For specific color matching always test. Mixing more than 2 different glazes at a time can sometimes result in muddy appearing colors. It is best to stay with 2 color blends. Many things can effect the way glazes will appear on a piece, from clay color and application, to variables in firing temperature and speed. Firing test tiles of blends and taking good notes is the surest way to get good, consistent results.
