AMACO® Friendly Plastic® 7″ Designer Sticks Print—Pearl
AMACO® Needle Tool
Heart-Shaped Silver 3/8″ Brad
Scissors (Tim Holtz Micro Serrated Scissors from Tonic are recommended)
Oven
Nonstick Baking Sheet
E-6000 Glue or similar (optional)
Jump Ring
Chain (for necklace) or Wire Loop (for wine charm)

Step 1

Cut a rectangle ½” (wide) by ¾” (high) from the Friendly Plastic® stick. Cut off the corners. The corners will become slightly rounded after the Friendly Plastic® is heated.

Step 2

Cut the ends off the brad, removing the part where the two ends first meet or approximately 3/8″ Do not shear the metal ends off completely, as it’s these sharp ends that will stick to the Friendly Plastic®.

Step 3

Place rectangle on baking sheet in oven until it softens. Push the brad gently into the warm rectangle.

Step 4

While rectangle is still warm, use needle tool to form hole in middle of one end. Let cool.

Step 5

After cooling, if the brad does not stick to the Friendly Plastic®, use glue to attach the brad. Add a jump ring to attach the charm to a necklace or to a loop of wire for a wine charm.
