INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1
Place sheet of foil on heat resistant work surface. Place one Metallic Print Swirl and one Metallic Print Pearl Mint stick next to each other on foil. Heat the sticks until you see them begin to soften. Gently press together with a finger at the seam. Press butterfly cutter into Friendly Plastic®. Set aside to cool. Note: Cooling process can be shortened by placing Friendly Plastic® with cutter into the freezer for a minute or two.
Step 2
Using Kemper 3/16” teardrop cutter, cut 6 teardrops from a piece of Metallic Turquoise stick. Be patient…the Friendly Plastic® must be heated, cut, and cooled for each individual teardrop. Once cooled, remove teardrop from Friendly Plastic® and set aside before proceeding to next one. At the same time, cut two 3/8” teardrops from Gold Spectra stick.
Step 3
Using Kemper 5/16” circle cutter, cut two circles from Metallic Deep Rose stick following directions in step #2. At the same time using 3/8” circle cutter, cut two from Orange Copper stick (cut in orange area).
Step 4
Final cut out before assembling! Use scissors to cut a body for your butterfly from an Orange Copper stick.
Step 5
Cut one 4” piece Fun Wire™. Fold in half and then curve each end to form antennae.
Step 6
Assembling your butterfly! Place butterfly body on foil. Heat until Friendly Plastic® begins to melt. Turn off heat gun and place one Orange Copper circle in head position, four turquoise teardrops on wings, and two gold teardrops on lower wings as shown. Reheat until pieces begin to bond. Place Deep Rose circles on top of Gold teardrops and the antennae on top of the head. Continue to heat. Place the second orange circle on top of the antennae, the body below it, and the crystals onto the deep rose circles. Continue to heat. Finally place the eyes on the head.
Step 7
Turn off heat gun and let butterfly cool slightly. Use needle tool to detail wings with lines and dots. Let cool completely before removing from foil.
If desired, a pin can be attached to the back of your butterfly. Cut a small strip of Friendly Plastic® from leftover scraps. Open pin and place against back of butterfly. Warm stick of Friendly Plastic® until it begins to soften. Immediately place over base of pin and press into place. Let cool and then enjoy!
